Many operations can be performed safely by laparoscopic ("key hole") surgery through small wounds.  This often makes recovery easier, less painful and shortens hospital stay. Robotic surgery adds the benefit of improved vision and dexterity to improve the surgical outcome.  Safety and excellence in cancer care are not compromised in these operations.
